Buying a used iPhone 3G ??

Ok... there's going to be a flood of used iPhone 3G in the market now that iPhone 3GS is out. There will be some good bargains to pick up if you're smart.

However, if you aim to ultimately UNLOCK your iPhone 3G to use it with any other network provider, you'll need to ensure that the baseband on the iPhone is 2.28.00 and NOT 2.30.00.

You can check your modem firmware/baseband by navigating to
Settings > General > About > scroll down to find the "Version" which is the firmware, and, "Modem Firmware" which is the baseband.

Having said that... all is not lost

. You can still downgrade your baseband to 2.28 using Fuzzyband only if your bootloader is 5.08 or lower. If it is higher than 5.08, then you'll need to wait for someone to come up with another hack...

Update: iPDT have just confirmed on MuscleNerd's YouTube unlock video that all iPhones with firmware 3.0, regardless of what version baseband or modem firmware installed, CAN BE UNLOCKED !!

ultrasn0w is the new yellowsn0w !!

So, feel free... install the latest firmware 3.0 ... its out NOW !!

my girlfriend has just got an iphone given to her from college for 1 year for free!

16gb 3G - Black

i knew these phones were the dogs bollox.. but now ive actually played with one with enuf time to fall in love with one.. I WANT ONE!

now.. im not going to pay for a brand new one.. fook that lol.. pathetic prices..

However.. ide like to know what a good price is on a used iphone 3g 16gb ..

and.. is there an option to get a brand new case fitted so its like a brand new fone again?

also.. ill be jail breaking the phone when i get one.. so that will be the next question after ive purchased one.

but first, whats a good price to pay on a used one?

just purchased an iphone 3g white 16gb used but has been in a plastic type sleeve that protets the front & back since new!!

so basicly ive got a brand new iphone which is 8months old (With receipt!!)

its not been modded, unlocked or anything.. but im thinking about jail breaking it for all of the free apps

any helpers on jail breaking?

i trust people at ukcvs more than people on google

ps. it was £254 delivered however i had a £5 gift voucher from ebay so all in all £249
