I'm thinking of getting a Tablet probably the Asus EEE Transformer, this comes with wifi but no 3g, but I don't see the point in embedded 3g anyway as I have a iPhone 3gs on ios 4.3 which has enabled the Personal hotspot via bluetooth and cable feature. I' ve checked the tablet pairs and web pages can be viewed, this seems fine.
for clarity and to avoid extra charges I thought I'd contact vodafone and check that I could use the built in data package that comes with my contract. after 5 minutes I realized that I wasn't going to get a proper answer as the customer services informed me that I needed wifi as 3g was a TV signal FFS ![]() his argument was that you can get TV on your device using 3g, but not with gprs my argument was that Vodafone should train their staff on the products they are selling. his other suggestion was for me to phone Apple support, which I countered with how are Apple going to advise me on Vodafone data plans surely that's your job ![]() but it appears that I can use the data package with my contract without paying the standard £5 tethering charge that used to to be charged, but if I go over my 500mb then I will incur an extra £5 charge for another 500mb does anyone know the truth..? |
