Would be good if you shared how you did it with others mate... that's how the community grows and everybody learns. Plus, it'll get you some brownie points with this forum too ;p.

I was running SBS 2003 with Exchange 2003. I tried all sorts of thing s but eventually this is what got it running for me:

1. I ran the Internet and Email Connection Wizard (IAECW) from the Server Manager, this Wizard runs through some questions as to what you want to activate in Excahnge such as Mobile Email and Active Synch and SSL certificates. The IAECW also uses UDP to open up ports on your router need to allow remote Mobile Email and SSL. If your gateway router doesn;t support UDP (i.e. Cisco) then you'll have to do it your self. Open up port 443 (for SSL).

2. I also bought a Certificate from a trusted route CA. I chose a Thawte CA which cost $300.

You could do a self cert but for all the hassle of finding out whether a self cert is causing any connection problems, you mnight as well buy a cheap SSL Cert.

Note 1: If you want to check what the wizard is doing: After the wizard completes, the icwlog.txt in C:\ProgramFiles\Microsoft Windows Small Business Server\Support is updated. After the wizard completes, the wizard script file config.vbs is created in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Windows Small Business Server\Networking\Icw.
Note 2: Each time the wizard runs, a new config.vbs file is automatically generated to preserve the previous settings. For example config.vbs, config1.vbs, config2.vbs, and so on.

Thanks mate, this is a great first attempt at writing the guide. May I request you to please elaborate each step in further detail, so that novice users (such as myself !!) can further understand exactly what you did and hopefully emulate your success.

Thanks once again mate... keep up the great work. We need more and more people like you here.
