Should I get an iPhone 3G now(I have att), or wait until I can get the G1 and switch service to t-mobile?
I'm mainly looking for a phone that has lots of software applications and media functionality. Thanks. Also, what apps are there for android? |

Definatly the G1. It features an "android Market". Android is software for mobile devices that includes an operating system and key applications. Google developed Android to work in combination with Google services, such as Gmail, and provide an enjoyable mobile Internet. Android is also open source, meaning that anyone can create programs for it and distribute them.

I'd still prefer the iPhone to the G1. Many reasons...

On the flip side, no monitoring means the users are open to hackers creating a great front app with an underlying scammer/skimmer. Then each time you login to your email/bank/facebook/etc, the app neatly sends your details off to the hackers site. Even if the hacker is able to fool 1% of the population, he's got enough info to pay for his expenses for the next year .It's probably not as bad as I've made it out to be, but I'd rather err on the side of caution.

I would also prefer the iphone as it has a much larger variety of apps to put on your phone and I think the layout of the iphone is better.

if your on about the ipod touch you need to "jailbreak" it. dead easy using a program called QuickPwn. it's a little daunting at first, but dont worry about it. and you can always restore using a reset thing within itunes to a non jailbroken system

iPhone Dev Team's Blog - QuickPwn/yellowSnow/PwnageTool/etc. Haven't seen a better place for tutorials yet. iClarified - Tutorials for iPhone, iTouch, etc Hope this helps. If you've got questions, raise them in a new thread and I'll do my best to answer them.
