Default Lyngbox

The Lyngbox LB1 Is a satellite PVR box, what is interesting about this box is that one of the company founders is "Christian Lyngemark" who is behind the well known Lyngsat website, a first port of call to many satellite enthusiasts.

http://www.lyngsat.com/

It is claimed that the features of this new box came about from the many people visiting lyngsat with ideas and emails about what the perfect box should do.

The other interesting thing about this box is that it was built in Motala Sweeden. The Nokia Dbox was also built in Motala Sweeden.

Also many of the people behind this new Lyngbox are former Nokia employees involved in the Dbox.

The Lyngbox is Linux based but not open source and is believed to be technically way before it's time just like the dbox was. Lyngbox has no plans to make the firmware public as this encourages piracy and Lyngbox plan to work with providers to develop features.

Interesting if in future someone does manage to hack this box though, it does look smart.
