Good Application Sources for Installer
How do I add a source in the Installer?
How do I add a source in Cydia?
How do I get Installer/Cydia? If you don't have Installer or Cydia yet, then you've got a non-jailbroken iPhone. You need to jailbreak the iPhone first. Once you've done that, come back here for the sources. But, before you unlock your iPhone (on the O2 contract), ask yourself, do you really want to? In any case, if you don't you can always re-virginise your phone by installing the original firmware via iTunes normally. PS: There's loads of sources out there... if you think there's a useful one that I've missed, please add them here.

First off, congratulations on your new iPhone! Its ok to put it down once in a while .Right, perhaps the easiest way for you to upload songs into your iPhone (considering that your iPhone is kosher and all) is via iTunes. Just connect your iPhone to the pc/mac and run iTunes (if it doesn't do so automatically). Once iTunes is running, you'll see a menu on the left of your iTuens. This menu is divided into 3 sections. The top section shows what you have uploaded to the iTunes database. If you delete from here, the song/app/photo/podcast will get deleted from the database. The 2nd section only comes up when you connect your iPod/iPhone to iTuens. This shows what stuff you have on your device. You cannot modify anything from here. The only way to do so is to modify section 1 or 2 and then Sync with iTunes. The bottom section is for Playlists. You create Playlists so that you can group similar songs / artists / etc together. This is just an association and the actual song does not get copied again and again if you copy it to multiple playlists. Also, if you delete from a playlist, the song will not get deleted. Usually, you'd follow this cycle ... Music on your pc >> Music on iTunes >> Music in playlist >> Sync to put music on iPhone. Step 1: Drag & drop music folders into "Music" on iTunes (Section 1) Step 2a (optional): Create playlists liks "Elvis" or "The Doors" or "Beatles" etc... Step 2b (optional): Drag songs from Section 1>Music to these playlists Step 3: Sync iPod/iPhone with iTunes. Before you begin, I recommend you backup your music since this is the 1st time you'll play around with iTunes. In the case that you accidentally delete your music from iTunes and say "Yes" to "Remove files from computer" then all your music will get deleted. Also, you can access the iTunes Store from iTunes and subscribe to podcasts or download Applications for your iPhone. There you go... hope you have fun.
