Yeah me too m8... its surprising what they offer if you threaten to leave and have someone good on the end of the phone. I've had 2 free routers out of them already ! They always try and offer free movies or sport for 3 months too... I always have to laugh... if only they knew I had them already lol

The main thing about getting through to the "thinking of leaving us" department is that you're guranteed to talk to someone empowered to make decisions, based here in the UK. Not someone unintelligibly reading a script in the Indian call centres!

(Mind you, as the cancellations dept seems to be Glasgow based, there sometimes doesn't seem much difference, LMAO!)

They are desperate to keep your custom- as the 'before and after' results of my two or three calls to them over the past 2 years show:

Before: Analogue TV basic, 1mb broadband, phone- £38-50 a month.

Now: Digital Free TV basic, 10mb broadband, phone- £23-49 a month.

If you don't ask- you don't get!! Cheers- AL

I'm out of contract with VM. My current package is (£35) :
Broadband - 10Mbps (L)
TV - 160+ channels (XL)
Phone - Evenings & Weekends (L)

This has now gone up to £39 this month.

I called them up and spoke to a fekking beartch. Said I'm thinking of flipping to sky because they've offered me the sky HD+ package for the same price as VM with all the extras and bb and also because VM have started charging me more than what I was paying earlier. The idiot told me that I've always been paying £39 ! Her confidence kinda shook me (lol) and I decided to verify her claims. Found out that she was wrong - I was paying £35 and not £39 as the stupid woman claimed!

Anyway... the score... VM-1 PM-0...

The agony doesn't end here... I forgot to take her name so I can't even complain to her supervisor now!! Christ...! Got nobody to blame but me! Arrrgghhh !!

What I really want is the VM+ HD box. Am going to call them now, cancel my TV sub and get the 2 for 23.50. Then get a VM+ box from fleabay (or if someone willing to part with theirs)... mosc it... mosc my current sammy 2110 which will no longer be on contract (I'll remember to unplug it when I call... that's supposed to be good right?)

That'll learn them to mess with pande_monium! heh heh !

Ok... you there... stop laughing now, you hear !?! NOW DAMMIT !!

i spent a whole day haggling with them. first call nice lad but not a good deal. 2nd call a right arguementative sh1t called Asim who shouted and me and interupted all the time, to the point when i said cancel my contract now. he changed him mind then. 3rd call was a nice chap who bent over backwards for me.

Now, i'm on:

BB : 10MB
TV : XL
Brand new V+ HD box
Line Rental + anywhere 400 - basically, 400minutes per month to ring anyone.
FREE Installation

i WAS on the anytime BUT you get charged for calls to mobiles - this is free calls to ANY number included - also means no more unknown bills, easier to plan for.

i was paying £40 - £45 per month on average for BB/Phone line/free calls (landlines), now i'm paying £52 BUT i'm getting a v+ box and the services, XL Tv and more free calls for less than a tenner more per month. I'm happy with that, means i'm sorted. Plus, you can't beat the broadband from Virgin, seems like i'm consistantly downloading 120GB per month!!! it's all the HD stuff i'm getting....

My old contract was pretty tasty £26.45 per month for L Broadband, XL TV and the old Evenings and Weekends free calls telephone deal.

Moved and had so many issues with getting it installed to a new flat because of permissions tried as a new customer and problems suddenly resolved. Now being really done over with £70 for 2 boxes, one hd, 50mb broadband and no free calls in addition to it all having intermittent faults and numerous engineer balls ups etc and worse of all my brickwork ruined on the external walls where they have smashed their ways in with what looks like piledrivers!

I have got so angry i have cancelled my direct debits now. lets see what happens once they are after some cash. :-)
