Default Linksys PAP2-NA User Guide

What's NA mean? North America- also means the PAP2 is unlocked and can be easily set up to work with whatever voip provider(s) you choose to go to bed with.

This is the type to try and get hold of. Try and avoid the PAP2-UK (or is -GB ?) model. These are locked for good old Rip-Off Britain, so are tied to someone like Skype and are more expensive per month to run. Plus, they're not too easy to unlock, either!

PAP2's sourced from the Far East should be unlocked in any case. Just make sure that the product description states this!

Cheers- AL

As AL has mentioned, unlocking of a PAP2 can be a challenge. There are tutorials around explaining the process but to save everyone's time get the NA version.
The UK versions were locked to Vonage, and if allowed to go online they would lock to a point where it became even harder to crack. If you stopped the box going online you could unlock them but doing a 'hard reset' could lock them again.
I do not think the PAP2's are made any more and it seems that Ebay / Hong Kong is about the only place to get them - I suspect they are clones.
