Default BT price rise reminder

If you are a BT customer with free evening calls be aware that from the 1st of April the free calls start at 19:00 and finish 07:00 Monday to Friday (used to be 18:00-06:00).

Connection charges have increased from 9.3p to 9.9p a call, while the cost of calls made during the day will increase from 5.4p a minute to 5.9p a minute.

A pretty good money spinner for BT.......

BT need shooting, Mike...

They know full well that millions of old folk will be chatting away for an hour or more after 6pm every weekday this month, and won't have the faintest idea that they're doing anything wrong, until they find £130 extra on their bills next month.

That's if they're lucky, and are billed monthly rather than quarterly these days. Else their next bill could be £420 more than they expected, just on account of this sneaky 1800 to 1900 move of the goalposts.

And here we are, still in recession, with base rate at 0.5% - and banks giving 0.1% interest on savings (if you're lucky)- and inflation at 2% - so BT think it's perfectly good practice to whack on a 6%+ increase in their CONnection fee and daytime call rates.

Oh well, someone has to pay for their Chaiman's fat cat salary and bonuses and gold-plated pension, I suppose. Stuff 'em. Hell will freeze over before I ever go back to this tinpot shower of shite...
