BT - another price rise !!!!

From the 1st of October BT will be increasing their prices by 10% yet again - the last rise was 1st of April. This means their prices will have increased by about 20% in a year !!!

A BT spokesman said It was necessary for the company to review prices to cover costs and emerge from recession in "good shape". Well 20% is a brilliant way to end up in good shape and it is the BT customer that will suffer.

If you are not aware of the price rises :-

Monthly line rental will increase by 50p / month
Connection charge will increase from 9.9p to 10.9p
Daytime rate rises from 5.9p to 6.4p / minute.

The voip scene has changed very little, betamax/finarea mess around with prices but overall the market is very stable. I am still using up my call credit built up over a year ago, and when that is used up I will be back on my FREE calls and NO connection charges or line rental.

If you are with BT and do not want to get into voip then look elsewhere otherwise you are the ones who will lose big time. From the 1st of October a 1 second phone call will cost you 17.3p. How many times do you hang up when you get an ansaphone/voicemail. Even if you are on free evening and weekend packages, how much is your monthly BT bill - just look.....

Not everyone has 'free' minutes on mobiles or all inclusive bundles. The people this will hit the most are pensioners who stick with what they know. BT you are exploiting the less well off and should be ashamed
