external hard-drive with games on?

my uncle has a wii which was mod chipped to play backed up games.
the lazer went.

he linked up an external USB powered hard drive (dont know how he done it like) and it now runs games from that.

does anyone have any idea if this can be done on an xbox 360?

as i currently have a modded xbox360, running backed up games online..

if it gets banned.. i would like to download games to an external harddrive, and run them on an original xbox which i would have to purchase, so if i send it bk to microsoft there is no modifications whatsoever to the xbox console - thus getting "unbanned".

any information be great!

dont you still have to have the game placed in the disc tray if your playing from the harddrive, which makes it pretty pointless

Yes this is possible on a xbox 360 BUT you will need to own a jtagged 260 to be able to do this im afraid. You cannot jtag all consoles and the newer slim models cannot be done in this way. You have to own a console that was manufactured before june 18th 2009, has not been connected to xbox live since august 2009 and has not updated the dashboard to a revision above 7371. If you have played any of the newer games than Forza 3 them im afraid you are out of luck as this update that you would have to run to play one of the newer games disables the ability to run the jtag hack on it.
