Dear Members ,

ukcvs orignally was bieng funded out of the four admins pocket from day one.
we have a year vb licence and this is due up for renewal in the next couple of months . and we wish to buy a fully owned licence next time around. at a cost of £100 , we would also like to get the vbseo for our board to increase our search rank. at a cost of £100 if you add this up with our current hosting costs of £20 a month . we have worked out that we will need £500 just to servive the next year.

currently we understand times are hard and meny people are counting the penny's so we dont want to force the donation issue on anyone .
but if you feel you have a spare pound or two to chip in the pot we would be greatfull.click here

upon donating to ukcvs you will be given access to a special tresury section of the website where all funds and spends will be there to show you that we aint in this for personal gain but to keep our site going .(we have nothing to hide )

thanks for reading

Can we not set up a DD or something similar to drop in say... £1 / month? This is not a large sum to hurt anyone's budgets. And, although it's only £12/year from 1 person... we only need a handful of us to achieve the yearly expenses target.

In exchange, we can offer the paying members some privileges and access to say, the VIP room... which would have ready-made stuff? Or custom firmware, etc?

Is this something worth doing? How many of us are willing to sign up to this?

Count me in.

PayPal is already in place (I think), m8! If you look in the Images section, I believe the facility is there. Although it might seem you're lining the pockets of the Image poster, the funds are actually routed through to board upkeep.

Nj will enlighten us further...

as i`m a tight fisted, miserable, hard-up jock, how hates to part with me wind, never mine ma money, then you can count me in, i`m sure a £1 a month will not break my bank managers heart [ then again, you`s do know my bank manager ] anyway, i`m sure i`ll find a way to rob it back from our national treasury..

Al... am aware that PP is in place... have already used it to do the needful. But, I'd hate to use it monthly to donate £1 !

What I meant was to set up a regular monthly transfer from one's account to the UKCvs Upkeep a/c using Paypal, as it adds a layer of anonymity. Get the drift ?

The idea is good, and would generate regular funds for the forums upkeep and continuation, (and am sure we all want that ) and i cant see how 25 pence a week would break anybodys bank lol, but personally i prefer to give a few quid through paypal as and when funds allow.

Well, I can see it spiralling into a big maintenance nightmare too.

Think the voluntary donation scheme (currently in use) is perhaps best suited. The only negative with that is that if people don't act immediately, we stand a chance to fall quite a bit short of the target.

With other schemes like membership/Direct Debit/etc we can almost predict what the status will be in the coming year and take remedial steps in time.

Can see your point m8, been quite a few weeks now since NJ posted this and still only upto 160 quid !.

Come on you lot, get donating no matter how small, this forum is the main forum for d & dreambox development and as all the main developers and modders are members of this forum and you will all be very sorry to loose it.

Derek
